Umniah Signs Agreement with "Madrasati"
Stemming from its belief in education as a shaper of minds, Umniah is taking an active part in the Kingdom wide educational reform project Madrasati.

AMMAN, JORDAN, October 15, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Spearheaded by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah. Madrasati brings together public, private and non-profit partners in an exciting and new grassroots effort to renovate public schools in urgent need of repair. Striving to enrich learning environments across the Country, and to enhance opportunities for children in 500 schools in total, the first phase of the project targets 100 schools in central Jordan, namely in Amman and Zarqa.

On the heels of an agreement signed between Umniah and Madrasati, Umniah donated a sum of JD 250,000 to the project. This donation was made based upon the Company's belief in such educational initiatives which give Jordanian institutions and companies approaches to be active in the national efforts to upgrade education. Madrasati as a project that presents opportunities for companies to be part of efforts made to address new challenges faced by Jordanians
Further solidifying its involvement in the Madrasati initiative, Umniah held an Iftar banquet on 14, September 2008 for 400 students from the Hai Nazzal area at Abu Huraira Elementary school. During the event, 1300 school bags were distributed to attendees.

"By supporting our community, and by contributing to the creation of a healthy learning environment, we believe that we, at Umniah, are helping shape future generations of sound and positive thinking. Madrasati is effectively enhancing the quality of learning available in schools, and we, at Umniah, are always keen on supporting initiatives that make a difference in the lives of young people," explained Umniah Communications Manager, Ms. Rania AbuKhader Salfiti.
