Barbara Rowland Named to Exclusive Membership Organization
Barbara Rowland's lifelong love of learning and the field of education were the deciding factors when it came time for her to choose a career path.

Rushville, IL, April 28, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Barbara Rowland, an instructor for Spoon River College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in literacy training.

Barbara Rowland's lifelong love of learning and the field of education were the deciding factors when it came time for her to choose a career path. She received a Master's Degree in English Writing from Western Illinois University and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Literacy at Walden University. She has 12 years of literacy training experience and became an English 101 and 102 instructor for Spoon River College in 2008. Her goals are to re-establish students' writing skills and teach them to read and understand vocabulary on a college level. A member of National Council of Teachers of English and the International Reading Association, Ms. Rowland aspires to work with pre-service teachers to help them better teach reading instruction at the high school level. She attributes her success to her family background, education, goal setting abilities and determination..
