CARTERSVILLE, GA, November 4, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Melissa H. Williams, Principal of Woodland High School in Bartow County, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

With 21 years of professional experience, Dr. Williams attributes her success to the support received and lessons learned from her mentors. As principal, she is charged with ensuring that students are prepared for postsecondary education and future careers. Her day-to-day responsibilities include managing school operations, guiding instruction, budgeting school resources, developing leadership, monitoring discipine, supervising staff members, and overseeing the athletics and fine arts programs. Previously, she worked as an assistant principal, curriculum specialist, and also taught English and mathematics.

Dr. Williams is a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Association for Career and Technical Education, the National Association for Secondary School Principals, and the National Education Association. In 2009, she completed a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from The University of Alabama.
