Top IT Graduate Employer, FDM Group, Double Intake to 5000
The UK's largest IT graduate employer, FDM Group, will double its graduate intake to 1000 in 2011, creating more opportunities for graduates looking for employment in the IT sector.
BRIGHTON, ENGLAND, November 17, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The UK's largest IT graduate employer, FDM Group, will double its graduate intake to 1000 in 2011, creating more opportunities for graduates looking for employment in the IT sector.
As the 'Best Technical Graduate Recruiter' (according to the National Graduate Recruitment Awards 2010), FDM will double its recruitment drive in 2011, enabling the company to meet the increasing client demand for skilled IT Consultants and to continue recruiting the best graduates across the globe into its award-winning Academy Programme.
The company has more than 200 blue-chip clients worldwide, including some of the biggest financial, media, insurance, retail and telecommunications companies in the world such as HSBC, RBS, UBS, BSkyB and BBC. Acquiring over 20 new clients in 2009 and receiving over 20,000 applications in 2010, demand for both clients and graduates is tremendously high at FDM.
A career in IT provides excellent growth potential; however, recent reports indicate that IT graduates have the bleakest prospects, with an unemployment rate of 16% among the sector according to the Higher Education Careers Service Unit.
For graduates concerned about securing a job in the 'worst unemployment market for 17 years', FDM will be recruiting 1000 graduates onto its award-winning Academy programme in 2011. The FDM Academy provides the essential combination of postgraduate training and commercial expertise for graduates who lack the skills required to secure a job in the competitive IT sector, bridging the gap between university and employment.
Sheila Flavell, FDM's Chief Operating Officer, said: "There is a bigger demand than ever for IT professionals and there will never be a shortage of jobs in the sector due to the increasingly important role it plays in society. We are passionate about training graduates to kick-start their careers within IT and Finance and this initiative will take it to the next level. FDM will continue to play an important role in encouraging graduates to pursue a career in the IT sector.
