John Stormes Revamps Employee Programs through Writing
After working as a physicist for five years, Mr. Stormes discovered he was better suited for a career in writing
SANTA CRUZ, CA, December 20, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John M. Stormes, Principal of Media Research Associates, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in business services.
With three decades of professional experience, Mr. Stormes has proven he is a vanguard for instructional technology and design. After working as a physicist for five years, he discovered his knack for writing and instruction and made a swift career change. He gained experience as technical writer and editor before establishing an independent consultancy, where he currently writes content for online self-study courses. Subsequently, Mr. Stormes pursued an opportunity with the Southern California Gas Company as a supervisor of training development, and excelled in managing major redesigns of employee courses.
Mr. Stormes completed a Master of Arts in cinema studies at the University of Southern California a short time before he collaborated with renowned psychologist James Crumpler. Together they authored "Television Communications Systems for Business and Industry" in 1971. Mr. Stormes went on to write numerous articles for the American Society of Training & Development. He is currently developing a new course, entitled "How to Develop Job Aids," which is slated to be published in January 2011.
Alongside his compilation of success, Mr. Stormes retains two bachelor's degrees in English and physics. He received a community college teaching credential in communication arts, as well as a secondary teaching credential. He is a former member of the American Society for Training & Development, the International Society for Performance Improvement, and Delta Kappa Alpha.
