Karie Olson, Ed.D., Honored for Accomplishments in Educational Media Services
Karie Olson provides differentiated instruction and trains educators to utilize technological aids

MILTON, WA, April 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Karie Olson, Technology Integrationist for Kent School District, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of educational media services.

Having recently celebrated her tenth anniversary with Kent School District, Karie Olson lends nearly two decades of professional experience to her position as a technology integrationist. At her post, she provides differentiated instruction, and is responsible for assisting teachers to integrate media and technology in the classroom. She trains educators to utilize various technological aids such as the use of an interactive whiteboard and other instructional tools.

Dr. Olson holds a doctorate in instructional leadership from Argosy University and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction, with a concentration in multidisciplinary studies, from Lesley University. She also earned a bachelor of science in elementary education, with a concentration in special education, from Franciscan University of Steubenville. She was awarded the Gates Teacher Leadership Project Grant by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2003 as well as an Intel Grant for Teacher Training in 2002. Most recently, Dr. Olson was honored by Cambridge Who's Who as Professional of the Year in Educational Media Services. Her professional affiliations include the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, the National Staff Development Council, and the National Education Association.
