As Director and Co-Owner of Proven Ways, as well as throughout his incredible 42 plus year professional career in public safety communications, Mr. Welbourn has consistently displayed the dedication and diligence necessary to be considered among the best.

Proven Ways is an establishment which designs and provides training and consultation in emergency services communications. The organization has partnered with Ontario Colleges to offer students the opportunity to become certified as a "Public Safety Communications Professional". This full service communications course is designed to fit everyone from people interested in becoming communicators to senior communications operators. These courses are all best practices in areas of dispatch, call taking, 911 and advanced Critical Call Management subjects.

Proven Ways is involved in the training of 911 operators and dispatch, fire safety, police and emergency medical service. Ron got his start in the industry as a dispatcher with the Ontario Provincial Police in his late teens. He created Proven Ways in 1994 in order to give back to the community. He envisioned it as a way to pass on his valuable experience through training and consulting, as he was aware of the need for proper training within the industry.

Mr. Welbourn attributes his success to his incredible work ethic as well as support from his family and friends. He particularly appreciates the support his wife has given him, as she has also been involved in public safety communications for several years.

During his educational career, Ron earned a degree as an Emergency Number Professional and he is one of only 15 in all of Canada. He is currently the President of the National Emergency Number Association Institute Board and happens to be the first Canadian to hold that rank. Mr. Welbourn is also a member of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials.
