Sylvester Wilson Recognized for Excellence in Diving Education and Naval Service
Sylvester Wilson belonged to the first open water diving team to reach 1,010 feet

EVERETT, WA, August 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sylvester Wilson, Placement Director for the Divers Institute of Technology, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in diving education and training.

At the Divers Institute of Technology, Mr. Wilson trains students in commercial diving and prepares them for certification examinations. Formerly, he spent 23 years serving as a chief petty officer in the United States Navy. Mr. Wilson has also worked on oil fields in the Gulf of Mexico. With 35 years of professional experience, he attributes his success to his hard work.

In 1984, Mr. Wilson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management from Western Washington University. He is a certified helmet repair technician and CPR professional. He is a member of The American Legion, the Fleet Reserve Association and The Retired Enlisted Association. He supports a variety of children's hospitals.

The first chief boatman to qualify for submarine service, Mr. Wilson belonged to the first open water diving team to reach 1,010 feet. He was recognized with Purple Hearts for his service in Vietnam and Korea; he also received a Bronze Star. In the future, Mr. Wilson hopes to continue teaching.
